Why are we doing this?
For many deaf persons it is extremely difficult to get information on AIDS. Therefore, deaf persons often have just little experience in handling this sickness and are very insecure. We would like to help and for this reason perform the AIDS advising completely in German sign language. We are regarding this advising as being an important christian task. In this way, deaf persons will learn about AIDS and will attain more knowledge about it.
What are we offering?
Advising
We will answer all questions in connection with HIV and AIDS. You can reach us by fax, by videophone, by e-mail and through personal communication. All lof the advisings aforementioned are subject to to strict secrecy.
Voluntary cooperation
We arrange training courses, continuation courses and seminars. With these means we will train volunteers who then will be able to assist us.
Public relations / Prevention / Information on handling AIDS We organize public information events
- for school classes,
- for church communities for deaf persons,
- for sport clubs,
- for different groups (youth, women, men, lesbian and gay persons)
- for deaf persons’ centers,
- we build up information stands at festivity events (like street festivals, anniversary festivals, summer festivals)
